At 46, Beth Parry is co-owner of Wellness 360 in Rochester, NY, a mom of two, and a woman who finds joy in helping others live healthier, more active lives. After a challenging year of caregiving, running a business, and juggling family life, Beth joined the 40+ and Fabulous project as a way to rediscover herself.
Through the photoshoot, she found healing, confidence, and a reminder that she is more than her roles—she is a strong, beautiful woman. Beth embraces aging with grace, seeing her gray hairs as symbols of resilience and growth. Her outlook is simple yet powerful: beauty isn’t about perfection, but about authenticity, kindness, and the light we bring to others.

- Tell me a little about yourself (name, age, work, volunteering, family, hobbies)
Hi, I’m Beth Parry! I’m 46 years old and the proud co-owner of Wellness 360, a Physical Therapy and Massage clinic. I’m a mom to two wonderful kids, 25 and 12, and have been happily married to my rock and soulmate for 15 years.
Eleven years ago, we made the move from West Virginia to Ontario, NY, where I’ve found my passion in connecting with the community, teaching classes, and educating others about health and wellness. I especially love working with the senior population, helping them stay active and independent.
Outside of work, my husband and I love traveling on long weekend trips, camping, exploring local history, and hiking new trails. I also enjoy biking, yoga, Pilates, paddleboarding, kayaking, and simply being out in nature—it’s where I feel most at peace.

- When was the last time you were photographed professionally?
About 20 years ago, I had the unique experience of being a hair model for a photoshoot for a salon in Fairfax, MD. It was a fun and memorable opportunity to be part of the creative beauty industry.
We now must have yearly family portraits capturing our special moments and milestones that shape our lives.
- Why did you decide to participate in this project?
This past year was a challenging one. I was a caregiver for my grandparents in West Virginia, making trips back home 1–2 times a month while managing endless phone calls with doctors, family, surgeons, nursing homes, and insurance companies. At the same time, I was running a rapidly growing business, navigating my own health issues, and striving to be the best mom, wife, partner, and boss I could be—all while trying to maintain an exercise routine, a healthy diet, and some form of self-care. To say I was exhausted would be an understatement.
When I came across the ad for Elena’s 40+ and Fabulous project, I was immediately intrigued. After meeting Elena and hearing the passion behind her work, I decided to take a leap and do something just for myself. In the midst of the chaos, I needed a reminder that I am more than a mom, a wife, a boss, and someone who is constantly tired—I am a woman. And I am worth feeling beautiful.

- How did you feel when you first decided to participate in this photoshoot?
To be honest, I had some doubts when I first decided to do the photoshoot. I found myself second-guessing—Am I being selfish? Should I be focusing on something else? I also felt a bit nervous about being the center of attention for the day. But I’m so glad I pushed through because it turned out to be an incredible experience!
- What were your initial thoughts and emotions about being photographed at this stage of your life?
It had been a long time since I truly felt attractive. Most days, I’m in sweats with a messy bun, caught up in the busyness of life. I’m carrying more weight than I’d like and rarely take time for myself outside of work. Stepping into this experience, I was really nervous—but also hopeful that it could be a moment just for me.
- Did you have any concerns or reservations about the photoshoot?
No concerns, just excitement!
- Can you describe your experience during the photoshoot?
Elena has a remarkable ability to make you feel truly seen and valued. From the thoughtful videos and stunning photos to the delightful snacks and special treats, every detail was carefully planned to create a memorable experience. The pampering and attention to every little aspect of the day made it all the more special, and I truly appreciated how she went above and beyond to make sure I felt celebrated. I can sometimes feel overwhelmed with picking out clothing and jewelry, but Elena was able to pull together outfits, some that I would have never thought would work, making the whole process feel seamless and fun.

- How did you feel in front of the camera?
Though the photos turned out beautiful, in the moment, it felt awkward and unnatural with all the direction—‘Shoulders back, tilt the head, look here, face the knees there…’ It gave me a whole new respect for those who do this for a living!"
- Were there any moments that stood out to you during the session?
It was incredible to watch the entire experience unfold, from how many photos were taken to capture the one perfect expression to seeing how a simple change in lighting could completely transform the photo. It was fascinating to witness the level of thought and effort that went into the creativity behind each shot. Elena’s talent for her work is truly extraordinary.
- How did you feel immediately after the photoshoot?
Elena has a way of making you feel beautiful. The music was great, the atmosphere was light. I was nervous yet excited to see the pictures after the shoot.

- What was your reaction when you saw the final photos?
I found it really difficult to say, ‘Yes, I look great there.’ It felt awkward. But Elena made the process of picking out my favorite photos fun and easy. She pointed out that I was choosing all the pictures with a serious face and none of the smiling ones. After the final review, thank goodness I took her advice and chose some of the smiling pictures. I find it funny that when we look at pictures of ourselves, we see all of our perceived flaws. Sometimes, it’s nice to look through the lens of someone else.
- Did the photoshoot change the way you see yourself? If so, how?
For the first time in a long time, I felt beautiful. It dawned on me that I had difficulty smiling during the shoot. There was a lot of laughter, but smiling on purpose wasn’t so easy. Years ago, I was made fun of for my smile, and I guess that subconsciously came through in the shoot. At one point, Elena complimented my smile and called it beautiful. In that moment, I felt a sense of healing.
- How has this experience impacted your self-perception and confidence?
This photo shoot gave me such a boost of confidence. There were pictures that made me feel powerful and others that made me feel beautiful. Even though I still wear sweats and a messy bun to work, I now know I can still dress up.

- Did the photoshoot help you discover or rediscover any aspects of yourself?
As I said earlier, I found
peace and healing with my smile. Though I can be body-conscious at times, the
way Elena selected poses was both flattering and uplifting.
- Was
this experience mostly fun, or did it have a deeper impact on you?
It was both—an incredible experience and a moment of self-discovery. The music, lights, props, makeup, and hair made it feel like a day of pure pampering. But beyond that, it helped me rediscover who I was as a woman.
- In what ways did it affect you personally or emotionally?
I have always envied women with self-confidence—those who can walk into a room, no matter their size, and own it with grace and certainty. I’ve never been the kind of person who walks into a room and immediately feels beautiful. Instead, I walk in knowing that I am kind, I am compassionate, and I strive to inspire and uplift those around me.
This photo shoot was incredibly powerful in allowing me to see myself through the lens of someone else’s art and creativity. Each picture captured a different side of me—a glimpse of who I am, who I aspire to be, and the many layers in between. It was a reminder that beauty isn’t just about appearance; it’s about presence, strength, and the light we bring to the world.

- What wisdom would you like to share with young women today?
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Your body will change, your hair will change, but the love, kindness, and compassion you put into the world will nourish your soul and leave a lasting legacy. True beauty isn’t found in perfection but in authenticity—the way you uplift others, the warmth in your heart, and the confidence to embrace who you are. Let the light within you shine unapologetically, and you will inspire and impact everyone around you.
- If you could talk to your younger self, what would you say?
Girl, it doesn’t matter how you look on the outside—you are beautiful just as you are. Never feel like you have to lose yourself to save someone else. You don’t need the approval of others, and you don’t have to change who you are to fit in. Be you. Do you. Believe in you. Your beauty isn’t defined by the world’s standards—it radiates from within, through your kindness, your strength, and the light you bring to those around you.
- What are the best things about aging, in your opinion?
I absolutely LOVE my gray hairs popping through—they are a testament to my journey, each strand earned through trials, tribulations, and the courage to step outside my comfort zone. Every silver streak carries a story of resilience, growth, and lessons learned. Life doesn’t change without discomfort, and true transformation happens when you embrace the challenges that push you beyond your limits. You cannot expand, evolve, or step into your full potential without first becoming comfortable with discomfort. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

- How do you embrace the changes that come with getting older?
Do we really have a choice? Life moves forward whether we’re ready for it or not. Instead of resisting it, I choose to be present, to appreciate every moment, and to honor the journey. Each line, each wrinkle, and every gray hair tells a story—one of wisdom, growth, and expansion. Aging isn’t about losing youth; it’s about gaining perspective, strength, and deeper appreciation for life. So be present, embrace the evolution, and celebrate the “you” in this moment—because every version of you is worthy of love.
- How have you grown or changed since entering your 40s?
In my 20s, my path was one of self-discovery, where I focused on figuring out who I was meant to be in this world. In my 30s, I found myself constantly trying to prove to others—that I could do it. It felt like a time of pushing hard to show my capabilities.
Now, in my 40s, there’s a shift. I’ve found a deep sense of peace that comes from simply being. The need to prove myself has faded. I’ve come to realize that embracing who I am, right here and now, is enough. There’s no longer a need to hustle for validation or approval from anyone. I’ve learned to offer myself love, grace, and understanding. My journey has transformed from one of striving to one of appreciating my own worth, without the need to justify it to anyone—least of all myself.

- What are some accomplishments or milestones you’re proud of at this stage in your life?
I have so many accomplishments that I’m incredibly proud of. Above all, I’ve raised a beautiful daughter who has faced her own challenges and emerged with passion, kindness, and a deep sense of self-worth. My son is full of creativity and expression. He is kind and gentle. I’ve always made an effort to make them feel special, cherishing the little moments along the way.
I’m also blessed to have an amazing, supportive husband of 15 years—a relationship I truly see as a great accomplishment in itself. Together, we’ve built a strong foundation of love and partnership. Additionally, I co-own a business that truly feeds my soul, and it has grown into something that I’m so proud of.
But what does success really mean? For me, success is not about numbers or accolades. It’s about knowing that my entire family is on the path to living with passion—living authentically, with purpose, and embracing every moment with love and gratitude. That, to me, is the true measure of success.
- Who inspires you at this stage of your life?
At this stage of my life,
I don’t have one specific person who inspires me. Instead, I find inspiration
in the people I meet along the way. I learn something from everyone—whether
it's a lesson in growth, self-discovery, or even a lesson in how I never want
to make someone feel. Every encounter offers a chance for reflection, and I’m
always looking for the lesson that can shape me or deepen my understanding.
Whether the lesson is big or small, I appreciate the wisdom that comes from the
people around me. I fully believe that everyone comes into my life for a
reason and a season.
- Are
there any role models or figures who have influenced your outlook on
aging?
I am fortunate to work with seniors of all kinds, and I spend most of my time with women much older than me. The ones who inspire me the most are the ones who keep showing up consistently, especially for exercise. I love the women who embrace their gray hair, who fully embrace life with laughter, love, and endless joy. Despite the challenges that come with aging, they continue to radiate positivity, and they always manage to make me laugh.
I feel so blessed to be surrounded by these incredible women every day. I have 70- and 80-year-olds who could outdo me in any plank challenge, and their strength, both physical and emotional, is truly inspiring. They’ve taught me that aging is not something to fear or shy away from, but something to embrace with grace, humor, and resilience.

- Do you have a life motto that you live by?
“Tennessee Whiskey” might not make sense to many, but for me, it’s become an inside joke with some of the most important people in my life. It’s one of those quirky, little things that only we truly understand, but it’s a reminder of the connections and the laughter that get us through really hard times. Sometimes, it’s the small, seemingly nonsensical things that carry the most meaning in our relationships. It’s moments like these that remind me how much joy can be found in the simplest of things
- Do you have a quote or a phrase that represents you, your view on life, or tells anything about you?
It’s a long quote, but it holds close to my heart. This is who I aspire to be:
“People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you
will win some false friends and some true
Enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years
building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway. ~ Mother Teresa

- What are your aspirations and goals for the
future?
My aspirations and goals for the future are simple, yet profound. I want to continue growing—emotionally, spiritually, and personally. I want to keep shining, sharing my light, and embracing every opportunity for growth, even if that means making mistakes along the way. After all, if you’re making mistakes, it means you’re trying, and that’s a journey I’m committed to.
I aim to continue making a difference in this world, even if it’s just one person at a time. I want to live with grace and compassion, not only for others but for myself as well. In a world that often feels like it’s moving too fast, I hope to live slowly, savoring each moment and doing everything with passion and intention. My goal is to stay present and live a life that is filled with purpose, connection, and love.
- How do you plan to continue celebrating your age and experiences?
I plan to embrace every change with love and grace, allowing each shift in my life to be an opportunity for growth and self-discovery. I’m committed to continuing my journey of self-care, living as healthfully as I can, and showing up for myself with consistency and forgiveness. I know that taking care of myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally—is not just important but essential to living a fulfilling life.
Above all, I want to be an inspiration for my kids, showing them the importance of resilience, self-love, and growth. I hope to model for them what it means to live with purpose, to face challenges with courage, and to take care of oneself along the way. With each step forward, I’ll honor myself with patience, understanding, and a commitment to living with intention and well-being, while guiding them to do the same.
