Meet Karen Menges, who just turned 70 and proves that age is only a number (and a fabulous one at that). A former exercise instructor, Karen has spent her life lifting spirits as much as muscles, and now she’s focused on living out loud—her personal motto. She came into this photoshoot a little nervous, secretly hoping it wouldn’t be too serious, but quickly found herself laughing, relaxing, and loving every moment of being pampered.
For Karen, the experience was both fun and surprisingly emotional. Seeing her portraits made her pause—she almost didn’t recognize herself at first. They revealed a version of her that felt more “grown-up” than she usually sees herself, but also boosted her confidence in a refreshing way. Married for 51 years, proud mom and grandma, and self-proclaimed drama-ditcher, Karen is embracing this new chapter with humor, joy, and a determination to stay young at heart. And in true Karen fashion, she reminds us that just because you’re on a diet, doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu!
